Penne - Egg Free
If you didn’t know that the Italian penne means pen (as well as quill and feather), then look to the shape for clues. Both ends of this short macaroni type pasta are cut diagonally to resemble an old-fashioned pen nib.
We use Organic Durum Semolina (Titricum Durum) for this penne.
Durum is a hard wheat which derives its gastronomically famous ‘al dente’ qualities from its high protein and gluten content. Grown around the world, the tricky semolina milling process makes it one of the only ingredients we have to import directly - ours comes from the Organic Molino Rosso Mill in Emilia.
We make this penne without eggs, meaning it is vegan friendly.
Certified Organic Ingredients: Durum Semolina, Filtered Water, Turmeric.
Preparation Instructions: Bring a large pot of salted water to the boil. Add pasta, gently stir with a wooden spoon and let simmer for about 4 minutes until al dente. Drain and toss it with your favourite sauce and serve.
